Floating Casino Tables for Pool Parties in Los Angeles

Floating casino tables sit right in the water, so your guests play poker or blackjack from the shallow end with a drink in hand. We bring the tables, waterproof cards, chips, and professional dealers, and we set the whole thing up before your first guest arrives. It is one of the few party ideas people actually remember a year later.

When a floating table is the right call

This works best when the pool is already the center of the party. Summer birthdays, backyard milestone parties, a company barbecue at a house with a big yard, a wedding weekend event the day after the wedding. If people are going to be in the water anyway, a floating blackjack table gives them a reason to stay there and talk to each other instead of drifting off to separate corners of the deck.

It is also a good fit when you want something guests have not seen before. Plenty of hosts have been to a backyard casino night. Far fewer have played a hand of blackjack while standing waist deep in a pool.

A few things to think about honestly. You need a shallow section where adults can stand comfortably, ideally a Baja shelf, a wide set of steps, or a shallow end that runs three to four feet. Guests play standing or seated on the edge, so a pool that drops off fast right at the wall is harder to work with. And you want a party where a good number of people plan to actually get in the water. If half the guest list is in cocktail attire, we usually suggest a floating table plus one or two dry casino table rentals on the deck so nobody is left out.

How the job actually runs

We talk about your pool first. Before anything gets booked we ask about the shape of the pool, where the shallow water is, how you get from the street to the backyard, and how many guests you expect. Narrow side gates, long flights of stairs, and hillside lots all change how we plan the load in. Better to know on the phone than at four in the afternoon on party day.

We load in and set up. Our crew brings everything in, places the floating tables in the water, and sets the dry tables if you have added any. Chips, cards, and layouts come with the booking. Nothing for you to buy, rent, or borrow.

Your dealers run the play. Every table has a professional dealer who teaches as she goes. Guests get funny money chips at the start, and those chips have no cash value. Nobody wagers real money and nobody wins real money. At the end most hosts total up chips and hand out a few prizes, which is the part people compete hardest over.

We break down and go. Tables come out of the water, everything gets loaded, and we leave the deck the way we found it.

How long it takes

There are three separate clocks and it helps to keep them apart in your head.

Setup happens before guests arrive, and we schedule our arrival based on your start time and how hard the access is. A flat backyard with a wide gate goes faster than a hillside house with a stair carry. Tell us where the parking situation gets tricky and we will build that into the plan.

Play itself runs for whatever window you choose. Most hosts do not run gaming for the entire party. They give it a defined block in the middle so there is time to eat, swim, and do the toast without competing with the tables. When play closes, the prizes get handed out and the party keeps going.

Breakdown is quick. Ask us for the specific arrival and wrap times for your date when you get your quote, since it depends on your venue and what you have booked.

What it costs and what moves the price

We quote every event individually, so the honest answer is that it depends on your party. What we can tell you is exactly which choices move the number.

• How many tables. The single biggest factor. More tables means more equipment and more dealers.
• How many dealers and how long they work. Dealer hours drive a lot of the total. A three hour play window costs less than a six hour one.
• Floating versus dry tables. Most pool parties end up with a mix, and the ratio changes the quote.
• Access and load in. Long carries, stairs, hillside lots, and street parking restrictions add crew time.
• Travel. We are based in Los Angeles and travel throughout California. Distance factors in.
• Add ons. Prizes, extra staff, and anything else you want handled.

What to check before you hire anyone

Ask whether the tables are actually built to float and be in chlorinated water, and whether the cards are waterproof plastic rather than paper. Paper cards die in about four hands. Ask who the dealers are and whether they are trained in house or booked through a staffing app that afternoon. Ours are hired and trained by us, and there are more than twenty of them.

Ask about event liability insurance and get confirmation the company carries it. We do, and most private venues and HOAs will want to see it.

If your event is a fundraiser, ask whether the company is certified by the California Department of Justice gambling division for charity fundraisers. California has real rules around charity gaming and you do not want to sort that out yourself.
